What does a Narayan Nutritional Coach do?
Our nutritional coaches specialize in helping people make food, supplement, diet, and cleansing choices based on their wellness goals. This can vary dramatically from person to person. It has been said that one person’s food is another’s poison. Many people fear that a nutritional coach’s job is to take away all enjoyable foods – NOT TRUE! The goal of nutritional coaching is to help you find a balance between health-supporting foods and “recreational” foods so you can meet your nutrition and wellness goals utilizing nutritional assessments and planning tools.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of visits varies greatly depending on your nutritional concerns, wellness goals, and lifestyle. With that said, many concerns can be addressed in as few as one to three visits however some clients see us once weekly to help meet their needs and goals. The number and frequency of visits is always decided together. It is generally helpful to have at least 2 – 3 consults over time to accurately evaluate the success of your nutrition plan.
What will happen during my visit?
The first nutritional consult with Narayan is an opportunity for you to get your burning nutrition questions answered. Usually during your first visit, an initial nutrition assessment is done utilizing a number of different tools including defining your goals, a detailed health history and nutrition log. We will ask you a variety of health and lifestyle questions to help us in developing a program to meet your needs and goals.

Keeping your nutrition goals in mind, we will work with you to optimize your eating habits creating the opportunity for you to make lasting changes toward your personal wellness goals. Narayan’s nutritional coaches are able to provide nutrition/cleansing/diet plans, recipes, menu plans, cooking tips, book recommendations and shopping tours. A typical first visit lasts between 1 – 1.5 hours and follow-up visits are between 30 minutes and 1 hour.

You can also expect us to provide you with a realistic approach to your goal, and some practical strategies to get you started. We will give you meal ideas , as well as suggestions on how to easily incorporate the nutrition changes you need to make into your life.

You will leave the consult with a plan and materials, and we may even follow up with you via phone or email before your next appointment. We will provide you with as much support as you need to achieve your goals!

How can I see a nutritional coach if I'm embarrassed to talk about what I eat?
When we ask our clients about what they eat, our primary intention is to get a better understanding of what they may need nutritionally to make reaching their individual wellness goals attainable.

We all have days that aren’t nutritionally perfect. Everyone overeats sometimes, and many of us have foods that we find difficult to eat in moderation. At Narayan, we don’t believe foods are good or bad. Food does not have moral value – it is vital fuel for your body and it is our aim to help you to view it that way. Food is not a cause of guilt or shame – it can provide energy and vitality and the ability to lead a full and healthy life.

When you visit Narayan, you won’t find judgment. It is our hope for you to find a safe place here where you can explore your wellness goals and find ways to achieve and maintain them for life.

Does Narayan have a cancellation policy?
Yes, we do have a 24-hour cancellation policy. The client will be charged or billed for half of the appointment cost for any no-show or cancellation within 24 hours of the pre-scheduled appointment. Remember, you are making a commitment not only to improved wellness, but to us as well. Please respect our time and effort in this matter.
